Planning Application

Planning application was submitted on 24 May 2024 following a consultation period. Updated proposals were formally submitted in early November 2024 following further amendments taking into account feedback from national bodies, statutory consultees and local community groups to ensure the plans reflected the interests of as many people as possible.

Receiving the support of councillors and officers at the district’s planning committee on Wednesday (8 January) evening, work will now get underway to begin the first phase of development, which is planned to commence in Spring 2025, with a schedule completion date for late 2026.

An outline application for the second phase of work on the project, including an extra care housing scheme, was submitted in early June and is expected to be determined alongside the Health & Wellbeing Hub application.

Thank you to the 5,000+ residents who got involved in the consultation process, whether through visiting the website or one of the in-person events, or by completing the online form. The feedback given has helped the project team to refine the designs and help create the best facilities for as many of our residents as possible.

Thank you to everyone who took part in the public consultation process, which ran from Thursday 14 March until Friday 5 April.

There has been a fantastic response, with hundreds of you sharing your detailed thoughts and feedback. The project team will now take this information away and use it to help refine the final designs, which are due to be submitted in the next few months.
